Hey y’all. I’m a pedal steel picker based in the foothills of Eastern Kentucky. Currently touring with my good buddy Alex Miller. When I’m home, I play/record with various artists throughout KY, including: Luke Trimble, Hannah Wheeler & the Heartaches, John Lovern & the Pearl Snaps, Rodney Crisp, and whatever bar band needs steel haha. I was tickled to death when Rodrigo reached out to me to provide some insight/thoughts about PSG Compass. He’s created something really neat and I believe it will be a huge asset to steel players (old and new). If you’re interested in general pedal steel content/discussions/lessons, go check out my YT channel @aldenosteel.

E9 5x5 Setup. I play my right knee levers backwards from most guys..thats just how my first D-10 was and I’ve stuck with it. If able, I’d have a 00 (double 0) pedal where I’d lower my B’s to Bflat cause then can get some more C6 stuff on E9 (like how Travis Toy has his set up). Also, I change my LKV from time to time. For a while, I had it rasing to B, which is a really pretty change. Right now, I’m lowering it all the way down to E (LONG throw lol). I do not have a half stop for it to stop at F# but you can kinda remember the halfway point (F#) after messing with it for a bit. I change it back to the raise to B sometimes, just depends what kinda mood I'm in.

After 40+ years as self-taught semipro guitar player, music theory and gear nerd I became brave enough to try the pedal steel. What fun it is, now I am addicted to it. And I'm not even a country guy! More rooted in Jazz, Rock and Pop I am on my way to explore its vast harmonic possibilities in those styles. That will keep me busy for the rest of my life, that's for sure. In my spare time I am also a family man with a day job :-).

"D6th Hybrid Plus". This copedent is based on Bob Lee's (Founder of the steelguitarforum) D6th Hybrid Tuning, which is an universal S10 concept but more on the 6th side of things (strings are tuned like C6th but one step higher). Marco made some additions and small changes, that's what the "Plus" stands for.
